If you live in Johannesburg, this is the optometrist you need to see! Candeece has set up a beautiful, tranquil practise in the heart of Sundowner, Johannesburg. Not only will you have your eyes tested but you will experience the beautiful space that Candeece has created. She is a true visionary - pun intended! I recently dropped my glasses and the frame chipped. I spoke to Candeece about it and she checked whether they were still under warranty and immediately ensured that they were replaced by the manufacturer free of charge. During the process one of the arms came loose and both were also replaced. The level of customer service at The Joburg Eye Lady is next level. Where do I begin, other than the facts? Candeece has been servicing my eyes for longer than anyone else at this point and all I know is when my ol’ faithfuls fall apart with the workload I put them through, Candeece is ready with consistent pricing and complete and thorough service personified. The industries I frequent do not allow for fragile Gucci specs and the likes (even though you’ll find these and so much more). I love that when I walk into JHB Eye Lady, my options are presented effortlessly and already narrowed down based on variables I don’t even understand - it’s not possible to need more than 5 mins with Candeece in her gorgeous frames room, she understands her trade. Such an amazing experience at the JHB Eye Lady! This was my first time visiting the practice and where does one begin? From the welcoming atmosphere the moment you walk in, to the incredible decor and yet the attention to detail does not stop there! Candeece is so passionate about what she does and really listens to your concerns and understands your needs, that you just know you are in the right place. After struggling with an incorrect prescription for months from a previous place, Candeece really assisted me with sorting out my prescription and I could not be happier with the results. From the very first time I drove in at The JHB Eye Lady it was a beautiful experience. I’ve never seen such an amazing space , and that was before I had my eyes tested 😉 I was greeted with a warm and friendly smile from Candeece’s front desk lady and assisted throughout the process. I was given the time to chat through my concerns and had everything explained throughout my appointment. When choosing my glasses I was given one on one time helping me to decide on which ones were best suited and was able to schedule another appointment to bring my husband along to help me decide. From the outset I was impressed. I was greeted and welcomed by the friendliest staff in what is best described as the funkiest colourful hall room. The actual eye test was thorough but not extremely long with modern equipment. Once again, a large refreshing space. I was blown away at the large variety of frames to choose from and really happy that their options included really funky ones. As I'm getting on in years I was wanting something fun and colourful. Candice listened and her suggestions ended up being the ones I settled on. She worked an amazing deal for me and medical aid. I was super excited to collect and happy with the final fit. I took my 12 year old son to have his eyes tested with Candeece from The JHB Eye Lady. The whole experience was super easy from making the appointment to fetching his glasses. Candeece was so thorough with her testing and I didn’t for one moment think she would prescribe glasses just for the sake of it. She has such a wide variety of frames available and selecting the right frames for my son was extremely easy. I made a quick online appointment for an eye test. I received a follow up confirmation the next business day. The optometry space is airy, light and vibrant. The eye test was thorough and efficient. Any questions I asked were answered on the spot. I felt assured. Thereafter I was assisted to browse through a range of frames for my specs and sunglasses. I was very excited about the look and comfort of the frame I’d selected. The options were explained thoroughly so that I knew what I was paying for and what benefits I’d be receiving. I've always supported franchises for my eyewear simply because you get free prescription sunglasses too, and I figured glasses were glasses. Plus being from Yorkshire, I like a bargain. I was so wrong. Candeece is very professional and experienced optometrist. After my retina surgery 14 years ago and subsequent cataract surgery I was advised by my opthtalmologist to only wear a contact lens in the "good eye",my distance vision amd reading was compromised. Candeece managed to come up with a solution and I now have almost perfect vision distance and reading, she has literally changed my life!I now have glasses so my eyes can get a break and contacts lenses too. When you first arrive you are greeted by this colourful, vibrant aesthetic that just draws you in. Candeece is a professional, you can tell she knows her stuff. I love that she made sure I was 100% happy she kept checking and rechecking that I had the most accurate results on my eye test. After the test she helped me choose my frames. I got a call like 3/4 days later for collection. My glasses are super cute and suits my face but importantly my prescription is just right. So I just had my eyes tested! I cannot begin to tell you guys how great I feel after having them done! Very informing and educating as well and now I understand how my eyesight works! Wonderful service, very informative. Candeece was great with my 6 year old for his first eye test awell as with my eye test too. After being at another optometrist and never feeling comfortable with my prescription and not even being able to wear them. Candeece picked up that I had been given the totally wrong prescription for my eyes, she also took the time to help me pick the right glasses and showed alot of patience with my indecisiveness :). Recieved my new glasses in 2 days. Really so happy that I can actually see through my glasses beautifully because she prescribed the right lenses for me! we will definitely be back! Candeece and the whole experience of the JHB eye lady was eye opening (pun intended 🤭) normally a visit to the optometrist a necessary hassle every two years but as someone who has worn glasses since a teen my experience when I booked with Candeece was something else! She took the time to explain how my vision had changed since my last prescription and what the new prescription would feel like, she also explained when exactly I should wear my glasses and when I shouldn’t, something no else has even taken the time to do. I could not be more happy with the service I received from Candeece. We took our whole family for an eye test, where we were all tested throughly. Candeece settled the nerves of my 5 year old with ease and both my daughters felt comfortable and actually enjoyed their experience. Her practice is neat, modern and safe with plenty of toys for the kids, including a trampoline to keep them busy while I was testing my eyes. Absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end! Candeece is an awesome person, knowledgeable and patient. Her range of frames is so fun bright and vast (theres a serious side to them as well), it was really hard to settle on one pair but she helped with making a final choice, it really helps that she's honest and not just trying to get you to buy the most expensive pair even if they don't suit you. Wow what an incredible experience!! I don’t normal enjoy any sort of medical appointment (eyes, teeth etc) but from making the booking to collecting my glasses I felt like I was their most important customer!! I highly recommend Candeece and team - not only was the whole experience thorough, they also recommended the perfect frames for my face - at the first go.
